I have a passion for photography and videography. Strong guidance over the years has yielded compositional skills and an eye for capturing the moment. I switched to digital SLR photography around 7 years ago and have a broad range of experience covering fashion, portrait, low-light, events, landscape etc. Combined with life-long experience with computers, it has allowed me to be both technologically and creatively competent in many subjects.
Born in Bucks, I was educated at the Royal Grammar School and went on to study Interactive Systems at Birmingham University where I gained my MEng in 2005. The desired result of the course was to produce engineers who could design systems around the end user rather than around the architecture. This gave me usability and Human-Computer Interaction awareness which assists when designing interfaces for websites or other human-oriented systems.
My varied skillset includes a competence with software such as Photoshop, Premiere, Vegas etc. as well as confidence dealing with the hardware side of computing. All of this has given me a flexible and adaptable mind-state allowing me to confidently approach many situations.
My full-time occupation is as a Broadcast Support Engineer for Red Bee Media at White City. This involves supporting the playout of around 120 channels including BBC, UKTV, Channel 4, BBC Worldwide and Virgin channels. Previous work has included vision engineering for Formula 1, vision/camera operating for Parliamentary coverage and the Iraq Inquiry.
